Celia Kapsomera

Celia Kapsomera leads the Registered Financial Planners Institute (RFPI) and its global network in championing the highest standards of ethics, professionalism, and excellence in the financial planning profession. Appointed President in September 2025, she brings more than 20 years of leadership experience spanning strategic planning, risk management, research, and financial analysis within the insurance and reinsurance sectors.

In addition to her role at the Institute, Celia is a faculty member at Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies, where she teaches in the Enterprise Risk Management program. She is also Principal of CSK Insurance Risk Solutions, a strategic advisory firm serving clients across the property and casualty insurance and reinsurance industry.

Her professional expertise centers on enterprise risk management (ERM), with a focus on helping firms navigate complex risk environments. Until 2015, she served as Head of Financial Risk Management at AXA Liabilities Managers, Inc., a reinsurance runoff management firm in New York. Prior to that, she was Vice President and Risk Manager at GLOBAL Reinsurance Corporation of America, the U.S. runoff subsidiary of GLOBALE Rueck (formerly Gerling Globale Rueckversicherungs AG).

Earlier in her career, she held leadership roles at XL Global Services, where she was Vice President and Co-Manager of Corporate Reinsurance Security, and at Gerling Global Re, as a member of the executive team overseeing strategic planning. She began her insurance career at Continental Insurance in New Jersey and held analytical roles at both Swiss Re and Standard & Poor’s in New York and London.

Through her work in education, industry leadership, and advisory services, Celia continues to drive innovation and integrity across the financial services landscape.
